Born into this world a tiny infant. Raised in remote Nazareth. Baptized by John in the Jordan. Here at his baptism he is anointed to be the Christ, but he is the eternal Christ. He begins his ministry as prophet, priest, and king, and yet he was these things from all eternity. And so we have another great paradox here but in a way it’s the same paradox that describes your baptism.
