That is why we are the salt of the earth. That is why we are the light of the world. Jesus has not done away with the law, but by fulfilling the law and giving us his righteousness, he has changed our relationship to the law – from a heavy burden and a fearful threat to a guide to joyful service to our God and Savior. And he’s changed our relationship with God so that we are no longer enemies but dearly loved children. Be the salt that Jesus has made you. Be the lamp shining with his light before all people, so that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
