Our Lord Jesus does not abandon us to our foolish, blind unbelief. He comes to us in Word and Sacrament. He addresses us like Thomas, and like John in Revelation. “See my hands and my side! Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last— the Living One. I was dead and, see, I am alive forever and ever! I hold the keys of death and hell.” Is it impossible? The evidence is before you. By his life Jesus gives you life. Jesus gives you peace.
