This Lent, repent like you mean it. God reconciles us to himself and that leads us to give heartfelt apologies to people we hurt, and to live lives that are characterized by sincere repentance. If you wear ashes, wear them like you mean it. If you give something up or fast, fast like you mean it. Come to church like you mean it. Pray like you mean it. Confess your sins like you mean it. Because God always forgives like he means it. The cross isn’t for show. It’s where your Savior poured out his blood for you. You are justified for Jesus’ sake. He gives you a clean heart, a humble heart, a repentant heart.
