Jesus doesn’t ask us all to leave behind everything to follow him. He doesn’t send us all to be missionaries in foreign lands. But he does call us all to follow him without fear. He’s the one who came to us, into our boats, into our sinful lives, to take our sins on himself, to lift us up with his forgiveness, and to give us work to do in his kingdom. It is he who blesses that work. It is he who fills your boats with fish. It is he who takes away your fear.
